Young professionals dedicated to the California Wholesale and Specialty Insurance Market
CIWA Future was formed in 2017 by the California Insurance Wholesalers Association (CIWA). Our mission is to connect Excess & Surplus lines insurance industry professionals under 40 to a wider network of dedicated and seasoned insurance experts.
Our key focus will be to provide education, advocacy, and networking opportunities for the next generation of Excess & Surplus lines industry leaders. We will accomplish this by providing members with educational resources and holding regional events in California where young professionals can learn, form relationships, and become further engaged in our great industry to ensure a bright future.

Mentorship
To accelerate the professional development of insurance professionals that are newer to the industry.
To newcomers, the insurance industry can feel overwhelming, confusing, and often like a tight-knit group that may be seen as exclusionary or elite. The CIWA Mentorship program offers both knowledge transfer and networking opportunities for mentors and mentees.
Mentors and mentees will have opportunities at the Industry Day and Summer Forum events to meet in person, network, and strengthen their partnerships. Quarterly virtual meetings will also be arranged as check-ins and group knowledge exchanges with prepared topics and time for open questions.
Reach out to the Committee Chair below if you are interested in becoming a mentor or mentee.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
To promote diversity in the areas of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, and ability (etc.) to influence meaningful progress in the diversity of the Excess & Surplus lines insurance industry and its talent pipeline.
Our goals are to establish benchmarks and success indicators of diversity, inclusion, and equality throughout the CIWA association and our industry at large via interactive workshops, events, and partnerships. We aim to create bridges between members and outside resources to raise awareness, foster conversations, and provide resources to our membership that can be actionable in their own companies.
Reach out to the Committee Chair below if you are interested in sharing your experiences as a speaker or attending, contributing in other ways to achieving our goals.
